Miniatures Make TheWorld Go Round!
I was introduced to miniatures 20 some years after retiring from the PRCA rodeo circuit and working in the stock horse world.
I was looking for something to do with my 'free time'. My parents had been raising miniature horses for a few years and seemed to like it. I really didn't pay much attention until I went looking for something to do and to get out of the city.
I was given 'Arnold' (see Arnold's page under the miniature link) as all my parents kids and grandkids are granted one miniature as a gift. At the time I didn't know what I was going to do with him. I just loved him climbing up into my lap and petting him.
That summer I needed the serenity of the country and I spent a lot of time in my parents pasture. I let the foals climb all over me. One in particular always climbed in my lap when I let her. She was like an Angel to me, very peaceful.
That fall, my father needed a laptop computer and I had an extra one, so we made a trade for that filly that climbed in to my lap that summer. Thus her name 'Laptop Angel'.
Little did I know Laptop would be make a huge difference in my life. I had an accident and ended up needing to learn how to walk again. Laptop had just turned two. Part of my rehab was to ground drive her. What a pair. She learned how to balance with a person who couldn't walk and I learned how to walk again. We only fell once! She seemed to realize then that she needed to balance for both of us. When I finally got her to a cart some 6 months later, she was ready to go and we have had a blast since then!
I greatly appreciate God's gifts and these two miniatures truly are gifts.
