A Gem Like Opal
Opal showing at the Derby City Spring Fling 2007
Opal as a baby
Triangle Acres Standing Ovation ASPC  aka 'Opal'

        DOB: 2006

        Job: Show String

Opal is a beautiful gem, you would like to say a diamond in the rough, but really an opal was a better gem for her.  She's out of Silhouette and 'Hot Dog' - one of the biggest 2005 losses - J.B. Oscar Meyer.

Opal's presence in the ring is hard to miss, she enters with a spring in her step and her ears high up.  She's always looking to see what is going on.  She was shown extensively in 2007 and did well, top 10 in standings for Open and top 5 for Amateur.

Opal doesn't allow you to miss her, if you are working around her she just has to be in the thick of things.  If you don't pay her any attention, she does a little hoppity dance with her front feet (Shhhh - her big sister Satin does that too!  We just don't talk about it) until you give in.

Opal is always willing to please, if she doesn't think she has done a good enough job, she really turns on the show and then waits for you to respond.  She has never disappointed us.

Currently Opal is trying out some of the tricks she has seen her little brother do, (you know Smokie, he is good at untying other's stall doors), but she hasn't quite figured out how he does it.

A ball of energy, we hope to start Opal driving this summer.  If anyone knows Hot Dog - he was a mover!  Look for Opal at the 2008 Congress!
